What will the new Astra be like
With the new Vauxhall Astra for sale at the end of the year and with it going on display for the first time at the Frankfurt motor show in September there is a lot of excitement in the motoring world and the trade press is full of rumours and snap shots of the new model, could this be the time to buy a new Astra.
The Astra has been a popular choice of car in the UK for over 30 years since it firms became available in the 1970s, it has for all that time been an extremely popular choice for families and the newest model looks set to continue that trend with the car that will be available at the end of the year going on sale in a 5 door hatch back.
The higher end specifications for the car include a satellite navigation system, these are better when they are integrated into the design of the cars interior as trying to position the satellite navigation when you add it into your car rather than having it built in means you never get the screen where you want it or the buttons are just not in a natural position, and you do not want to be fiddling with your satellite navigation when you are driving.
The new Astra has spent a long time in the wind tunnel this has helped the engineers trim and perfect the design to ensure the newest in the Astra line is the most fuel efficient of the family to date.
Attention to detail seems to be the mantra for the award winning designers of the sixth in the Astra series, the news is that they have researched the 20 most popular things that people keep in their car, they then designed storage for these 20 things. This means that the new Astra will have moulded areas for storage and storage space that can be moved and adapted to allow different items to be stored in the same place.
It is small things like the wind tunnel time and the storage options that move a car from the normal family car to the level of family favourite and that is the place the Astra has felt most comfortable for the past 30 years.
