I also reccommend to go South to Florianopolis, there is the only Blue Flag Beach of south America Jurer Internacional, and is also the most ecological state and City of Brazil. If youre looking for a nice vacation and travel with groups I recommed you to rent a nice summer House in Jurere, they have plenty choices, private pools and everything you need for those amazing vacations, we did have a blast in Floripa as they call it, last time we were there! we arrange the car and the house with the people of Floripa for rent http://www.floripaforrent.blogspot.com really nice people, we rent it with a Mate for the whole week... People the parties, the blue beaches and the amazings views that Florianopolis offers are really amazing, of course much much secure city than Rio or sao Paulo and the Houses are enormous, even Ronaldinho, Xuxa and many others has a summer House there!
